A Gulet is a wooden motor sailing boat, the modern version of the ancient cargo bearing craft which used to trade along the coast of Turkey. The Gulet real design has evolved into a comfortable blue cruising boat and some have air conditioned accommodation for up to eighteen guests in self-contained double cabins. Just outside of Fethiye is, here you find Europe's largest ship-yard for wooden yachts.
The singular desing of the gulette, Turkey’s indigenous sea going vesse,blends practicality and tradition in a relaxed style that embodies the Blue Voyage.Over the years gulettes have evolved from traditional fishing and cargo vessels into their present profile of a broad beam and wide deck.Constructed mainly in the shipyards of Bodrum,Bozburun,Marmaris and İstanbul and along the Black Sea Coast,these boats are equipped with motors as well as fully functional rigging.The number of passengers a gulette carries depends on the boat’s size,altough most of them accommodate between eight and twelve people.These vessels have speparate accommodation for passengers, and chartering one will also include services and entertainment.Modern gulettes are comfortably equipped with most home comforts and encourages a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all the passengers with a friendly relationship with the crew. A twenty meter Gulet can be built from scratch in eight to twelve month. The Gulets cabins are generally for two (double beds not twin beds). All of the Gulets cabins have enough storage room for your belongings. Each cabin has a ensuit toilet with wash basin and shower providing modern facilities and privacy. The gulets offer enough space to the passengers in the cabins, in the aisles and on the deck.
Gulets are traditional yachts of Southwest Turkey. In general, gulets vary in length between 14 and 41 meters (52- 110 feet) hence varying passenger capacity.
