first boat -advice?

Hi there everyone....

I feel very fortunate to have come across this website.
I have embarked on a mission to purchase a cruising sail boat and could really use some advice as to what to look for (as in potential problem areas) specific to a 1969 34' Islander sloop. I have been looking but there doesn't seem to be much info out there on the 34'. Is there anyone that could offer some advice/opinions on this choice? The seller is motivated for health reasons only, as he loves the boat. If not this boat, I am very flexible and more than willing to consider others.
